Organizational History

Eustis Main Street, Inc. was incorporated as a 501(c)3 organization in 1993 in preparation for the City of Eustis' acceptance as a Florida Main Street community in August of that year. Since then, Eustis Main Street, Inc. has worked to fulfill its mission "to organize and assist in the revitalization of historic downtown Eustis and its lakefront" by implementing the successful and proven Main Street 4 Point Approach to Commercial District Revitalization. As a grassroots organization, most of the work is done through the efforts of volunteers who serve as Board members, committee members, or others who just want to be a part of what Main Street does for our community.

In addition to the normal Main Street Committees: Organization, Design, Promotion, and Economic Restructuring; Eustis Main Street welcomed a group of volunteers who wanted to promote the arts in Eustis. The Public Arts and Music committee became a part of Main Street and placed Eustis' first public sculpture in 2000. They also brought the Lake County Folk Festival to Eustis. The PAM committee continues to provide a variety of art and music opportunities for both residents and visitors alike.

Eustis Main Street, Inc. is a Nationally Accredited Main Street organization. Currently it produces monthly Street Fests and Cruise-Ins, an annual two-day Folk Festival, Light Up Eustis, the "Art in the Air" banner project, and an Easter Sunrise Service. Main Street also distributes image and promotional marketing pieces, assists businesses and property owners, recruits new businesses, and works with other private and public entities to achieve our common goal of downtown revitalization.
